PERMISSION TO CROSS POST - smc

Hi Decker People

Years ago, when we were breeding the Deckers (Chatterton's Double Decker Kennels) here in NC, we had a beautiful male that had been put into a kill shelter in GA, simply because he was too big and they wanted a couple of smaller dogs instead (?????). We knew nothing about it as the owner never tried to get in contact with us. Several folks saw the photo of the dog that was being passed around on the internet, and contacted us. We were able to get a Rat Terrier rescue agency to pull this boy for us as we KNEW without a doubt he was one of our Merlin and Avalon's pups. Good news was that he (Bear) was a beautiful male, very nice manners, very trained, and house-broken, very loving and eager to please, only a couple of years old. We bless those folks that tried to get in contact with us and the agency that pulled him (RatBone Rescues) for us all the time, as we found our Bear a permanent (still going strong) home only about two miles from one of his litter-mates and they visit each other several times a week to play and just hang together.

I received the following in an email today from a person in New Rattitude (a rat terrier rescue agency) - it is from someone else who got it from someone else (trying hard to get him noticed), and I want to pay it forward. This is a Decker dog that is currently at a shelter in Milpitas, California. His name is Vegas. Apparently the original people that bought him gave him away to some folks in that area of California, and after two weeks his new owners dumped him at the shelter there as they didn't have the time for him.

I'm asking that all you Decker dog folks take a good look at him. We all know our own lines of the Deckers (or should know them). Please help in finding the breeder of this beautiful boy so he/she/they can do the right thing and take him back in order to find him either a proper home or get him into protective custody with a rat terrier rescue organization.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart ....
