Oldie But Goodie
Hi! I love your website! We have
been searching for our little rat for a long time! We wanted a puppy
to add to our family and I had a long list of things that I thought a dog
should be in order to best fit into our family. As an adult I have
had a Lab and a Golden Retriever, both very wonderful dogs; however, they
require a lot of work bath wise, travel wise, hair patrol wise! So,
being a single mom doggy maintenance was definitely a consideration.
I thought about numerous breeds but ruled all out for a variety of reasons.
I wanted to adopt but couldn't be sure of ultimate size, coat etc. It then
dawned on me that the dog of my youth was a wonderful pet! She was
a little dog that thought she was big! Played like crazy when we
played, hung out like a couch potato when that was called for, traveled
easily with us everywhere we went! Now my mom said she was a toy fox terrier.
I started surfing the web for those and found some breeders near my area.
The more I looked the more I realized she was different from tft's somehow.
I remembered the name rat terrier in relationship to our little dog from
somebody when I was a kid. I looked that up on the net and there
she was! Then the search began in earnest! We found our little guy
and will bring him home in one month! I will definitely send a picture
of "Isaac" with the kids when I get one, in the meantime I've sent one
circa 1965 of me and "Buttons". I thought you might get a kick out
of a happy child returning to the happiness of her rat roots!
