WELCOME! NRTA is an association that loves ALL Rat Terriers. established with YOUR LOVE of the breed in mind. We are here to understand your concerns and hold YOUR Rats in their highest esteem. You will receive a Membership Card confirming your membership and a full color quarterly Newsletter so you may be informed and participate in all Association policies, activities, lists, proposals and fun stuff.

You have an option of recieving your newsletters online for an Annual fee of $20.00 or $30.00 for a printed copy in the postal mail. The online version is password protected and accessable to members only.

Membership: I (We) agree to the following Code of Ethics as required for approval of membership in the NRTA, (also see Dog Registration forms).

If you are a Breeder: To be listed as a NRTA breeder you must become a member, fill out a Breeders Application and all dogs and litters of puppies produced must be approved and registered with the National Rat Terrier Registry (NRTR) the clubs official registry. Breeders & NRTA Code of Ethics must be followed and a copy of your Health Guarantee on puppy sales must be supplied to us.

If you are a Officer (Club Officials - Board Members, District Vice Presidents, Regional Directors and State Inspectors) the following applies:
All dogs must be registered with the NRTR, promotion of any other Rat Terrier Club or Registry is prohibited. Acting in the best interest of the NRTA and the Rat Terrier is a must. I agree to uphold all Rules, Codes and to promote the NRTA and the Rat Terrier above self-interest. Failure to do so will result in my immediate dismissal. I agree not to engage in self-promotion, advertising, newsletters, information boards or any activity that brings harm or embarrassment to the club I represent (NRTA) or the Rat Terrier.

If you are a Judge or Steward : Full understanding of the Standards and all Rules pertaining to the showing of the Rat Terrier under the guidelines set down by the NRTA are required. Testing as to these rules and standards are required. I agree to represent and promote the standards of the NRTA as the sole and true standards for the breed.
